The Magic Under the Hood: Organic ReSynthesis®


OVox is powered by Waves Organic ReSynthesis® (ORS) technology to deliver its unmatched vocal synthesis sound quality.

ORS takes the original vocal signal and breaks it down to its core ‘DNA’ elements—amplitude, pitch, and formant. It then re-synthesizes these elements to create the new vocal sound, which is free of unwanted artifacts and preserves the expressiveness of the original vocal.

Intuitive Control


OVox is instant: no routing required. Simply insert it as a plugin or fire it up as a standalone app – sing, hum, speak or beatbox into it, and hear the magic happen.

MIDI control is optional. You can use OVox with a keyboard or MIDI controller, or with any instrument (for example a guitar) as the ‘carrier.’ Or you can simply use your voice (or a recorded vocal track) to trigger automatic chords, harmonies or scales, using OVox’s automatic Note Mapper.

OVox’s MIDI Out feature lets you play any virtual instrument (whether by Waves or other manufacturers) using your voice, in real time. You can sing or hum melodies; OVox will convert your voice to MIDI, then send the MIDI out to the other instrument. You can also use the Note Mapper to quantize your MIDI to scale, or generate hundreds of chord progressions easily. You can even route the other instrument as a carrier back to OVox, and use OVox’s formant filter to modulate the other instrument!

Automatic Note Mapper

OVox’s Automatic Note Mapper lets you easily select & map which chords, harmonies and scales will be triggered automatically from your vocal tracks—even if you don’t use a MIDI keyboard.

Expanded View: FX

OVox’s Expanded View gives you detailed control of the Formant Filter—the complex filter curve that enables the plugin’s built-in synth to mimic the human voice so accurately and imitate the sound of different-sized vocal folds.

For added vocal shaping power, tweak OVox’s 4-band EQ and six built-in effects—AutoPan, Chorus, Compressor, Distortion, Delay and Reverb—all fully modulatable by the plugin’s nine modulators.

    Important note for Scheps Omni Channel and CLA MixHub users:
    To be able to insert OVox into the Scheps Omni or CLA MixHub insert slots, you must update Scheps Omni Channel and CLA MixHub to their latest versions. Inserting OVox into older versions of these two plugins will result in a crash.

    Cakewalk users:
    The latest version of OVox is not compatible with Cakewalk. We are working on making it compatible soon. In the meantime, please refrain from installing or updating the latest version of OVox, as this may result in Cakewalk hanging. If you wish to install Ovox, or have updated prior to seeing this message, please contact Waves Tech Support, and we will provide you with the previous OVox version for installation.
